Success Stories: I’ve helped students gain admission to some of the top colleges in the country, including: MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Penn, Columbia, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins, USC, and NYU.
Services: I provide tutoring, editing, guidance, advice, and inspiration. Most importantly, I provide strategy and insights. My single area of focus, my niche, is the college application essay. I can help you take your ideas, your experiences, your background, and your goals and aspirations and create a truly powerful admissions essay. I have extensive experience with the common application for undergraduate programs as well as with personal statements and statements of purpose for graduate programs: business school, law school, and medical school. I’ve also worked on transfer applications and scholarship essays.
Background and Expertise: I’m a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and I was accepted into the MBA program at Columbia University’s Graduate Business School. For many years, I interviewed high school students and provided student evaluations to the Office of Admissions at MIT. My experience helping hundreds of students with their essays has enabled me to gain keen insights into the admissions process. I know which applications and which essays are effective, and which are not.
Writing a Successful Essay: The message conveyed in the essay must be clear, persuasive, and riveting. Sentence structure, grammar, and vocabulary must be impeccable. You really have to “wow” the admissions committee. Give them compelling reasons why they should admit you. Don’t just present yourself as a strong candidate, present yourself as an extraordinary one!
My Philosophy: I have a strong conviction about the value of a quality education, and I believe it's important for you to attend a college that you are genuinely excited about. I feel everyone has special and unique talents and traits. My job is to ensure the admissions committee will see that in your essay. I take my work very seriously and will do everything I possibly can to make sure you are accepted into the college of your choice.
