This course challenged me to think outside the box. It allowed for me to come up with

ideas using a different platform. What I learned from this can and will be utilized during

my duties as a Public Safety Officer. I find that area as the one that will mostly benefit from me

learnings. My work environment provides me with the unique opportunity to take what I have

learned and used. For one, I can use my knowledge of implicit and explicit bias as it relates

to cultural identity as well as cultural diversity. This is because of many races and ethnic

backgrounds who I get to interact with because of my job. I can then form an opinion using

subjectivity and objectivity. I will compare this to how I previously handled the same or similar

situation without the new tools. I will also use what I’ve learned to see how my views have

changed when dealing with individuals. I can now make better assessments based off the

learned material when it comes to groups and group behavior.

When it comes to relationships, I will use the information learned from this course to

improve upon what I already know. I can then make changes as necessary that may beneficial to

me as well as those that I may encounter regardless of frequency. Overall, the knowledge I now

possess can only help to better sustain the ability of making decisions. The process in which it’s

done can and will utilize the research provided to form carefully developed opinions that will

contain aspects of our beliefs, feelings as well as proven facts.
