We have several upcoming opportunities to learn more about the UW Honors Program. These include:

Your essays should be original, thoughtful, and concise. Do not copy previous essays from your UW application or materials found on the UW Honors Program web site. Draw on your best qualities as a writer and thinker; academic risk-taking is a core value of the Honors Program, so take some risks and have fun. Tell us who you are and how your story is unique. Work on the essay early, remembering that concise and eloquent writing is both difficult and powerful. Have someone edit your writing but don't let an editor erase your unique voice.


If you are in 10th grade, read more about the , the Robinson Center’s early university entrance program for students, offered in collaboration with the UW Honors Program.Some programs confer honors within their program, discipline or College. These honors are recognized every April at the UW Oshkosh Honors and Awards ceremony and are published in the official program of this ceremony. Please check with your program or College to find out if they confer honors and the requirements for such honors.UW Honors, which you're applying to in general (departmental you'd be applying through the department and I suspect you'd actually know about it before applying), looks to find students who can combine two fields, such as medicine and journalism, into a career path or similar. Their key word is 'interdisciplinary,' which means taking two more more disciplines and making magic out of it.Are you considering applying to the UW Honors Program as an incoming freshman?
